The habits you form now will set you up for the rest of your years.
You will need to get familiar with the Fund, complete some important forms and make a few decisions. It is important to become an informed member of the Fund. There are lots of ways to do this and places where you can get help when you need it.
Step 1:
First things first: make sure you understand how the Fund works, your benefits and where to see your Fund balance. Contribute as much as you can each month. Start by building good habits now, as they will set you up for the rest of your years. By setting goals and sticking to them, you can make the most of what the Fund offers. |
|
Step 2: As you are still young and probably not tied down too much, take the opportunity to contribute as much as you can each month. It’s so much easier to save when you are young, before you have massive financial burdens and family responsibilities. Don’t let anything get in the way of your long-term financial planning. Step 3: Complete your Nomination of Beneficiary Form and your Funeral Nomination form (very important) |
|
Step 4: When you are younger, you can afford to take more risk, to earn higher returns. The Fund’s Goals-Based LifeStage Model is the default investment option, and if you are invested in this portfolio, your money will be moved for you, automatically, as you reach the next age category. Ensure you obtain expert financial advice regarding your investments, so that you will be able to choose the best and most direct path to a secure retirement. It’s so important to invest according to your unique profile. Read up about the Fund investments and complete your Investment Option Form. If you do not complete this form, you will be invested in the Default Goals-Based LifeStage Model. Please note: before you decide to choose an investment portfolio, please speak to a financial advisor. See the details below. |
